Three Rajasthan men were arrested by GRP Kodarma for trafficking a minor girl from Ichak Police station of Hazaribagh. The accused had planned to take a train from Kodarma Railway station where the GRP was already alerted.
The accused confessed that they had paid Rs. 59,000/- to the step-mother of the minor for marrying her off to a 34 year old man. 
After the confession from the arrested men, Police also detained the step-mother. She went on to confess that the minor girl was already married and this was her second marriage. The step-mother also confessed that she had received money from these youths but she insisted that the money was taken as a loan from them since they had become relatives after marriage.
Police is investigating the case.

A minor girl from Rajasthan's Alwar district was rescued by local villagers after her father had sold her off for Rs. 7 lakh to unknown persons in Haryana.

“The minor girl has filed a complaint against her father and three other persons. The four have been detained and an inquiry has been initiated,” said Chetram Dagur, SHO, Laxmangarh

The girl was rescued when she began screaming for help while she was being forced into a car. The 14-year-old girl has alleged that along with her father, her mother was also a part of the conspiracy. Police have registered an FIR against all four accused under sections 363 and 120B.

Mathura, Jul 5 (PTI) Two minor Dalit girls who were allegedly kidnapped by two youths from Ambedkar Nagar district nearly a month ago were today rescued from a guest house here, police said."Both the girls were recovered from Nagla Chandra Bhan- based guest house under Farah Police Station along with Prince, a youth," ASP Anupam Singh said.According to police, the two girls, aged 16 and 17, were lured and abducted by two youth -- Prince and Ankit -- resident of village Mahamadpur in Ambedkar Nagar district on June 11.Since then the two girls had been living in aforesaid guest house.Since location of both the minor girls was found in Mathura, SSP Ambedkar Nagar had requested his Mathura counterpart Babloo Kumar for nabbing them, the ASP said, adding the girls were rescued by the Highway Police.The police of Ambedkar Nagar is likely to reach here tonight."Both the girls and the youth, Prince, would be handed over to Ambedkar Nagar Police," the Singh said.Meanwhile, according to police of Ibrahimpur police station, both the accused youth have been booked under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and SC/ST Acts, as both the girls are Dalit.According to police of Ibrahimpur police station hunt for Ankit is on.

In yet another case of human trafficking in Chhattisgarh, a 19-year-old tribal girl who was sold off for Rs 30,000 in Uttar Pradesh was rescued by Bastar police following arrest of the woman agent who took her to Mathura luring the girl for an exertion with the help of another woman.The girl had walked out of her home after having a heated argument with the family and finding her alone at the roadside hotel, the woman agent trapped her.
The accused woman identified as Kalpana Mandal, 36, had sold off the girl hailing from Kondagaon district for marriage with an elderly man at Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh.
Kondagaon SP Santosh Singh told TOI that the girl was rescued and her condition was fine and hasn't complained of any sort of assault.Singh said that girl's parents had lodged a missing complaint on June 20 at village Kerawahi, suspecting trafficking in the case Kondagaon police constituted a team to trace the missing girl when they found her location at UP.Taking along the parents to identify the girl, the police team travelled to UP at a village called Kaji and rescued her safely on June 28 and brought back to Chhattisgarh on Sunday.The girl in her statement said that after having an argument in the family she absconded form home and was standing at highway near Kanker when the woman Kalpana approached her in a Bolero vehicle, Singh said.She spoke to the girl with sympathy and took her to Odsiha where she met another woman called Tina. They both brought her to Jagdalpur and stayed for two days when the girl expressed need to return home but in stead the women lured her for exertion to see temples at Mathura and took her to UP via train from Raipur.After selling her off to a man and collecting Rs 30,000, the duo returned.The tribal girl informed police about Kalpana and her address after which she was arrested and confessed to the crime while Tina is still at large. She was arrested under Section of 366, 368, 370 and 34 of the IPC.Meanwhile, it is suspected that Kalpana had been acting as conduit for traffickers at other states and might have sent many girls for slavery, marriage and prostitution. Police said that she was being interrogated for further leads.

The Bodoland Students’ Union (BSU) on Sunday rescued three teenage girls from New Jalpaiguri Railway Junction in the North Bengal sector and sent them to their respective homes. The girls were victims of human trafficking.

According to BSU general secretary Bonjit Manjil Basumatary, six girls from Kokrajhar and Chirang districts were brought to participate in a dance competition in Kokrajhar town on Saturday, but were later taken to NJP and kept in a place named Valpara.

A 23-year-old man, who wooed impressionable teenagers and sold them after luring them to Mumbai, has finally been arrested by the Crime Branch. He was nabbed after trafficking a 15-year-old girl from West Bengal, after courting her and promising to marry her. Once in the city, he sold her off for Rs 25,000.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Ajijool Sirajul Lashkar (23) arrived in Mumbai with the minor girl and was living with her. The girl was a resident in the jurisdiction of the Baharipur police station in West Bengal. An officer from Unit XI of Crime Branch said, “We got a tip-off that a woman was going to be sold soon.

On the basis of that information, we picked up a middleman who wasn’t involved directly in the deal, but knew about it. The man told us that the accused would be bringing the girl to the city soon.”

“Lashkar soon arrived in Ghatkopar with the minor, and called up the middleman, who immediately informed us. After this, we laid a trap and arrested him on June 26,” the officer said, adding, “Interrogations revealed that the accused had come to the city on multiple occasions before, to negotiate the deal to sell the 15-year-old minor girl.

After she went missing, the victim’s parents registered a case of kidnapping with the Baharipur police station in West Bengal. In the past, Lashkar has lured four girls to the city and sold them.” All four girls are still missing.

Modus operandi
In each instance of trafficking, Lashkar wooed his victims till they fell in love with him. He promised to marry them and settle in Mumbai. Once the unsuspecting victim set foot in the city, she would be sold off. As soon as the deed was done, Lashkar would slip out of the city.

A team consisting of Senior Police Inspector Avinash Sawant, Police Sub-inspectors Hitendra Vichare, Sharad Jhinhe and constables Deepak Jadhav and Santosh Desai arrested Lashkar, who was later handed over to the Baharipur police in West Bengal.

An officer said, “The accused has been handed over to the local police in West Bengal, who are now investigating the matter. In his statement to us, Lashkar said that the other four girls that he sold in Mumbai had also been brought from West Bengal.” Lashkar has been booked under sections of the IPC for kidnapping, rape and human trafficking.

A 12-year-old girl, who was allegedly “sold off” by her aunt to a family in Bhubaneswar where she worked as a domestic help, has been rescued by police and handed over to Childline.She was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Khurda which found her traumatised and in a state of distress. The girl was apparently subjected to torture by her employers. Member of CWC Benudhar Senapati said a complaint has been lodged at Chandrasekharpur Police Station in this regard.The girl was rescued by the PCR team from the road on February 6 evening and handed over to Childline. A native of Jajpur’s Kuakhia, the girl was one of the nine siblings. Since her father was a daily labourer and unable to support the large family, his sister Tara took the girl home and enrolled her to a school. When Tara needed money for her daughter’s marriage, she allegedly ‘sold’ the girl to a family in Chandrasekharpur for `15,000 two years back, CWC member Benudhar Senapati said. All this was done without the knowledge of the victim’s father.The victim, however, faced severe torture, physical and mental, during the stay. On February 6, the girl was thrown out of the home by the employer and found roaming around when police rescued her.The Child Welfare Committee took the matter seriously and reported it to Chandrasekharpur Police for investigation under Sections 16, 17 and 18 of the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976, Sections 23 and 26 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.The police are reported to have detained the employer, a Central Government employee, on Sunday.

Four teenage girls, including two Nepal nationals, who were forced into prostitution were rescued from a red light area in Kabadi Bazaar in Meerut. Based on a tipoff, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Meerut police at night raided a house from where a sex racket was being run by a woman named Sumitra and rescued the four girls, The girls are aged between 16 and 17 and two of them are Nepali nationals while the other two are from Jaipur, Sumitra managed to escape and a hunt is on for her, One Rajkumar, also from Nepal, was taken into custody and is being questioned by police.
