3 girls rescued by BSU
The Bodoland Students’ Union (BSU) on Sunday rescued three teenage girls from New Jalpaiguri Railway Junction in the North Bengal sector and sent them to their respective homes. The girls were victims of human trafficking.
According to BSU general secretary Bonjit Manjil Basumatary, six girls from Kokrajhar and Chirang districts were brought to participate in a dance competition in Kokrajhar town on Saturday, but were later taken to NJP and kept in a place named Valpara.
The kingpin Anjula Owary has managed to escape, Basumatary said
