Girl from Bihar, sold for Rs 30,000
BAHRAICH: A couple from Bihar kidnapped a girl from Chhapra district by giving her intoxicant and brought her to Bahraich. She was allegedly sold for Rs 30,000. The buyer kept on raping her for four days. She freed herself on Friday and narrated about her ordeal to the villagers. A man was taken into custody. Six persons are suspected to be involved in the incident. They are absconding.
A 25 years old girl resident of Birahiya area in Chhapra district of Bihar left her house to go to Chhapra 15 days ago and she lost her way. She met with a couple, who assured the girl to drop her to her house. The couple took her to a hotel where they gave her tea mixed intoxicant. The girl lost consciousness. She was brought to Bahraich. They handed her over to Lalley, a resident of Thanapurwa village near Digiha trisection in Bahraich. Lalley kept the girl with him for 15 days, with the help of Gopal, Babulal and Bhagwandas, residents of the same village. On July 26, he sold the girl to Ramgopal, a resident of Nanpara for Rs 30,000.
The girl told the police that Ramgopal used to beat her with sticks and raped her for four days. She was kept locked in a room. On Friday morning, Ramgopal went to the field without locking the room. She escaped and narrated about the incident to the villagers and asked for help. (TOI)
