Three held for sex racket, two minors rescued
Police arrested three persons on Thursday for trafficking in women and sexually assaulting minors on the pretext of employing them as domestic helps. Police also rescued two minors, aged 14 and 15.
According to the police, Rajesh alias Tinku, Ashish alias Ashu and Ranbir Singh were arrested from Kalkaji area in South Delhi. “Ranbir, who runs a placement agency in Amar Colony, used to provide minors to the other two accused. The accused had rented a place in Kalkaji specifically to take advantage of the women they had hired,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Ajay Chaudhry.
The racket came to light when one of the rescued girls informed the police about the sexual harrasment she was being subjected to. “Both the girls are from West Bengal. They managed to escape from Kalkaji on Wednesday and go to the Old Delhi Railway Station, from where the police rescued them,” Chaudhry added.
“She escaped after the new girl was brought,” an officer said. Indianexpress
