Police busted flesh trade racket, 7 girls rescued
Police busted a flesh trade racket and arrested four persons, including a woman from the Subhash Nagar area of Delhi. Seven tribal girls were also rescued in the operation.
Among the 60 tribal girls sold by the gang, seven were from Balaghat, who were rescued on Friday night, police said on Saturday.
Police embarked upon the investigation following a complaint from a woman from Koylikheda area in Balaghat about her missing daughter and nabbed a woman, Usha Bai, suspecting her role behind the incident.
During interrogation, she revealed her links with the gang, involved in luring tribal girls in the pretext of false
job promises and selling them off in Delhi, they said.
Acting on her information, a raid was conducted in Subhash Nagar area in Delhi in which Arjun of Jharkhand, along with Gandhi Kumar of Balaghat and Sugreev of Mandla district were arrested, police said.
They also claimed to have got some clinching evidences of the gang's links in the tribal dominated areas of
Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
A team of police has been sent to Delhi to get more information on the modus operandi of the gang, they said.
The accused have been booked under section 363 (Punishment for Kidnapping), 366 (Forcing or Seducing a Woman to have to Illicit Intercourse) and 361 (Kidnapping from Lawful Guardianship)of IPC and other relevant sections of different acts, they added. samaylive
