Cell to check human trafficking formed
PUDUCHERRY: The territorial police have formed a separate cell to deal with cases related to human trafficking.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime and Intelligence) Pradip C. Hota has constituted a cell under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police.
The cell consists of an Inspector of Police, a Sub-Inspector and three constables.
Laying out the objective of the cell, Mr. Hota, in his order, said besides investigating cases related to human trafficking, it would identify gangs and organisations involved in such activities.
The cell would liaison with non-governmental and welfare organisations for proper settlement and treatment of such victims, especially if the victim were a child or women. It would also carry out sensitisation of police personnel to human trafficking. THE HINDU
