Cops fear trafficking threat in NE states
Organised rackets operating across the country have of late started targetting the Northeast states of Mizoram and Nagaland for luring women into flesh trade. It was only last week that six Naga and four Mizo girls, from a beauty parlour in Goa, were forced into prostitution.
The nine girls were rescued from a beauty parlour in Goa on October 9. While the Goa Police have arrested five persons including one Shanta alias Lakshmi Mishra, owner of Lotus Beauty Parlour during the raid, the police in Aizawl have arrested three persons in connection with the same case. The three arrested for their alleged involvement in human trafficking in Mizoram have been identified as Vanlalruati, PC Lalrinzuala and Mohammad Alam, the last being a resident of Delhi. (Source)
