Minor Jharkhand girl ‘sold’, forcibly married, raped
A horrifying tale of sale, forcible marriage and repeated rape of a 15-year-old girl trafficked from Jharkhand.
The girl was allegedly brought to Rohtak from her native place in Jharkhand on the lure of getting her a job. Two youths of her own village, named Sahil and Saumya, brought her to Rohtak in the name of job nearly two months ago.
The youths handed her over to one Sushila of Khidwali village in the district. Sushila allegedly got her married forcibly to one Ram Lal of the same village on October 5.
The girl maintained that after the forced and illegal marriage, Ram Lal repeatedly raped her. He also kept her under confinement at his house in the village.
On October 13, the girl managed to escape and reached the ISBT at the Kashmiri Gate in Delhi. She approached the police there and got an FIR lodged. The Delhi police lodged a Zero FIR and referred the case to Rohtak.
A Rohtak police team led by ASI Devi Rani managed to nab Ram Lal on December 26. On his statement, the police also arrested Sushila on December 27. Both Sushila and Ram Lal were produced before a local court today, which sent them to jail under judicial custody.
A hunt is on to nab the other two accused in this connection.
