Mute girl sold, raped and rescued
Indore: In a shocking incident, a mute minor girl was abducted from Khajrana area and sold to a person in Ratlam district where she was raped by him. Police have rescued the girl and arrested the accused but identity of kidnappers is yet to be established.A-17-year-old girl had gone missing on December 30 last year and a complaint was lodged at Khajrana police station but despite hectic efforts by family, she could not be traced.The father of the girl was receiving blank calls from a mobile number for the past few days. Initially, he assumed that someone was making prank calls.However, he soon realised that his daughter might be in trouble and was calling him. But as she is unable to speak, he could not recognise the same immediately.He soon reached to Khajrana police station and reported the matter to the police. After investigation, a team immediately reached Ringnia village in Ratlam district along with him and raided a house where they recovered the missing girl.The house owner Bhawani Shankar (25) was taken into custody. He gave startling information to the police saying that the girl was sold to him for Rs 75,000 by a woman and youth and he married the girl.Police brought the girl to the city and also arrested Bhawani Shankar for raping a minor girl. Investigating officer sub-inspector PC Dabar told DNA, “Since the girl is mute and can only speak through gestures, police are yet to trace the culprits who had abducted the girl and sold her to Bhawani Shankar. It may be noted that the girl stayed with Bhawani Shankar for one month and 25 days and it is still unclear where she was kept confined for remaining period of around one month by the abductors.” Dainik Bhaskar
