TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS: A LITERATURE REVIEW
Despite the fact that, exactly 200 years ago, Britain and the United Stated formally outlawed the transatlantic slave trade, trafficking in human beings is now the slavery of our times. The global political agendas are trying to address this transnational problem with International Organizations, NGO's and so on, but the extent of the problem is not decreasing, in fact duplicates, thus enriching international criminal organizations. To get a good view of the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings is needed a thorough analysis of the literature available on the topic. This study aims at the deconstruction and analysis of the existing literature on human trafficking. However, no author has in the past made a clear assessment that focused exclusively on the analysis of the literature on human trafficking. The researcher conducted an analysis of 223 publications that have been systematically analyzed based on specific criteria. This literature has shown a wide range of aspects of human trafficking, although some weaknesses were found. Finally emerged how the sources and the research methods can influence the perception of the phenomenon.
