CBI rescues minor girl abducted from Madhya Pradesh
New Delhi, Dec 7 (PTI) The CBI has rescued a minor girl, kidnapped from Gwalior over two months ago from Gwalior, and caught her abductor from Gopal Nagar near Jaipur in Rajasthan. The investigating agency had on September 21 this year registered a preliminary inquiry on the direction of Madhya Pradesh High Court. "It was alleged that the minor daughter of Gwalior based advocate, left her residence on April 7, 2011 at about 10 AM to attend coaching class for Chartered Accountancy at Phool Bagh Chowrah, Gwalior and since then her whereabouts were not known. "A FIR was earlier registered at police station Hazrat Kotwali, Gwalior (MP) under different Sections of Indian Penal Code against an accused of Hanuman Garh (Rajasthan) and other unknown persons," a CBI spokesperson said in a statement. Aggrieved with the quality and pace of investigation conducted by local police, the advocate had filed a writ petition in the Gwalior Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking CBI probe in the case. A reward of Rs one lakh was also declared by the CBI for the general public to get some clue in the case. CBI conducted raids at the possible hideouts of accused in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Haryana and the girl was recovered along with the accused at Gopal Nagar, Jaipur on December 5, 2011. "She was produced before the Gwalior Bench of Madhya Pradesh of High Court. Today, she was handed over to her parents and the accused was handed over to local police," it added.
