Four arrested for rape of 17-year-old Delhi girl
On August 21, the victim, hailing from Arjunnagar of Delhi, came with Rakesh, to Panchkula. He had allegedly promised her family that he would get her admitted to a air-hostess course. They came to GH 79, a housing society, in Panchkula on August 22. In the evening they left for Shimla along with three others. During the stay in a hotel in Shimla, she was allegedly raped.
She was brought back on August 23 to Sector 20, Panchkula. According to the police, she insisted on going back, but Rakesh, Uttam, Pankaj and Uma Koirala did not allow her to do so. She started shouting which attracted neighbours attention, who called the police.
The medical examination of the victim was conducted on Wednesday at General Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula.
Inspector Dharambir Singh, SHO of Sector 20 police station, said, “The police raided the premises and arrested all four and a case under Section 363 ( for kidnapping), 372 ( selling minor for prostitution), 376 (G) ( for gangrape), 342 (for wrongful confinement), 506 (for criminal intimidation) and 120-B (for criminal conspiracy) of IPC has been registered against them.”
The police claimed that it could be a racket and three more people needed to be arrested from Sonipat district of Haryana. The court granted police custody of Rakesh, the alleged mastermind, till August 27 and three others were sent to judicial custody.
