Auto driver kidnaps girl
Srinivas told police that he had alighted from aBMTC bus in Byatarayanapura on Bangalore-Bellary Road on Monday evening. He had headed out from Huskur in Anekal and reached Majestic, and was going to a family member's house in Kogilu.
"I and with my daughter Rakshita boarded the auto at Byatarayanapura. I asked the driver to go to Kogilu and he drove towards Jakkur, saying he would take a short-cut," he told police. Srinivas said he asked the driver to stop in front of a bakery and got off to buy chocolates for Rakshita. "He claims that as soon as he went to the bakery, the driver sped away with his daughter in the vehicle," police said.
Following this, Srinivas approached Amruthahalli police and filed a complaint of kidnap. "We checked with several people in the area, including the workers in the bakery, who said they didn't notice anything unusual happening there. But all the witnesses we questioned said they had seen Srinivas weeping," police said. TOI
