Minor girl sold for R 70,000
Bhopal: A shocking case regarding sale of a minor girl has been reported from the capital. According to Nazirabad police, on February 8, Rinki (name changed) was walking towards a bus stand on the Kotra-Runha road with her mother and two cousin sisters when some people in a white Maruti car offered to drop them to their destination.
They left her mother saying that there was not enough space in the car and went away with the three sisters. They then dropped Rinki’s cousins at their home at Runha and took Rinki with them.
When Rinki did not return home, her mother reported the incident to the Nishatpura police, but was told to file the case at Nazirabad which she did.
Police investigations later revealed that Rinki was sold to Nanhulal and Roop Singh of Surana village in Nazirabad by Jashrath, Bhagirat and Jaswant. But the girl could not be recovered from Surana as Nanhulal and Roop Singh had returned her when they discovered she was from a different caste.
Rinki was then taken to Pachaur (Rajgarh) but she managed top jump-off the bike when she was being taken to Narsingh Garh and reached police station.
